pretty great game. Boss was pretty OP but was very satisfying to finally beat him. Also, why no giant spiders? would love to see a bigger production of this or a sequel or something with more weapons/enemies
beat it, and D*MN that was fun😁👍🏻 Amazing work! Really hope to someday see a sequel🤩❤️ Only SMALL issue I have is that I wish there was built-in controller compatibility. Had to use a separate program to setup a controller.
Hey there, OneFourtySevenAM here, and I just played your game for a video series I have called "Indie Picks". If you're at all interested in seeing what I thought of your game, feel free to watch the video.
Thanks, I've watch the gameplay, you have some nice opinions especially about the boss fight.
Maybe for a game that is meant to be hard, I should have design multiple bosses with decent increase of difficulty. Or else if the game is meant to be short, the boss level should not be too hard. I'll keep that in mind.
Thanks for playing my game, sadly the version you've download is in the hard mode, it may be too tough for non-experienced fps gamers, as you need to shoot the boss while it's attacking to deal full damage. After receiving lots of feedbacks I've updated a difficulty selection, your gameplay video helps me to analyze how to tweak the difficulty too.
It was a very Doom like game. Because of this and the fact the boss had some challenge to it, i enjoyed the game.
Only part i really hated was how we need to shake off the bugs. Shaking the mouse around was really annoying as it takes sometimes way too long to shake them off. This makes it harder to know where we are going too. I did find the reloading of the shotgun a bit impractical, and shooting at the bugs made it hard to know if we actually did anything to them too.
Thanks for your feedback, actually I made the shake-off to be trigger once and get rid of bugs after the character animation is finished, but I'm aware there is not enough visual feedback to tell the player that they don't need to keep shaking the mouse once the animation is triggered. So all the gameplay video I see here are players shaking their mouse like nuts, I had to admit this is a design flaw. Thanks for pointing this out.
The game idea and the gunplay for the most part is decent and would make a fairly interesting part ... if it wasn't for the fact that you are fighting that horde of bugs with just a shotgun.
The things I noticed while playing is that: * You have the player spinning their mouse to shake the bugs off. It would be a bit better if it didn't take so long just to shake them off or instead of spinning your mouse to shake them off, having a 'hold button to shake bugs off' button prompt.
*They just keep coming. Having 7 swarms of bugs coming at you is a bit much. I suggest either giving the bugs either slightly less health or putting a 'core' on the bugs that deals double damage when it. Hell, you could even make a bug bomb that temporary creates a no man's land where it is thrown.
*No strafing/reloading while sprinting. This may be a design choice of yours, but I feel like most of the fighting issues would be less of an issue if the players were allowed to strafe while running. Either that or the ability to reload (but slower then normal) would tremendously help with the gunplay.
*As the people in the comments here mentioned, a lower difficulty would be most appreciated. I feel like I'm playing Very Hard/Nightmare mode when it should be normal/hard for first time players of this game.
Other then that, you have an interesting game concept. The mechanics of the game could use a few modifications, but you are on the right track.
Yeah I've received a lot of complains about the game difficulty, personally I think there's no point to enable strafing/reloading while sprinting, otherwise player can just be sprinting all the time. But this particular limitation is what makes the game too hard. So I pushed a update today which implements difficulty selection, in the easy mode, you can outrun the pests even when walking, so if moving correctly, without sprinting you can avoid contact with the pests. Hope that makes the experience better.
You mentioned it might be better if running-reloads are slower or have some downsides, that could be a better game design. Sadly it'll require rewriting a big chunk of code to implement that, frankly I'm not going to investigate that much time in a game of this scale.
Also I lowered the shaking intensity needed for shake off action, many people include my friend had reported the mouse shake is like nuts.
this game is tedious.. I'm not gonna sit here and write an essay as to why because i simply hate this game now. i was gonna make a short funny little video about it and over edit it a bit but i couldn't because the game is so damn hard that its unenjoyable. maybe ill come back and play to finish my video but for now this game just completely ruined my mood, and if i do come back and finish my video ill post another comment with it so you can see what im talking about
The last boss is a little hard... but not too bad once you figured out his pattern. I had to stop talking so I can concentrate! You may want to put a warning for those people that are afraid of bugs lol. Feels like Resident Evil side spin story. If you can add the option to reload while running that'll be great!
I thought the trailer and screenshots up there had already been served as a warning lol. BTW great video, I can even learn some English from your vid.
About the type-fast dialogue you mentioned in the video, I didn't consider that feature when I code the dialogue system, it's impossible to implement this functionality without re-making the whole system now, which will take couple hours. I tweaked the dialogue for slow readers, but I forgot most experienced youtubers and gamers are fast at reading and speaking. I'll keep this in mind when I develop my next game.
Hi there, I am DragonExplosion and I am a Youtuber. If you like my videos, please leave a like and subscribe at my channel.
I would like to say that I was relatively amazed at the introduction of the game and the fact that the creator has made use of insects to be the main horror of the game as insects are indeed horrifying to many people around the world.
I liked the idea behind the game but one thing that really turns me off from playing the game is the fighting part. Shooting insects are good and amazing but the levels are really hard in general. It gets extremely frustrating when you just can't get past the insects with so many of them crawling around and flying in your face even though you shook them off. THEY JUST KEEP COMING. It took me a lot of time to get to the boss level which is obviously not shown in my gameplay but I felt that the intensity of the game could be toned down a little. If not, do create multiple difficulties to make player's pest control life easier. I felt that more information could be given about each insect as I did noticed that about a hundred cockroaches just needed one shotgun shot to kill but when they start overlapping each other, it looks horrifying UNSTOPPABLE!!!
I have no idea about how to get past the boss level as I had spent my life shooting it with a shotgun and in the end, there wasn't any shotgun shells left. I don't know if it requires the shooting down of the pillars but I have tried numerous, numerous times, trying to get the boss to shoot them down but I always fail because it is just too hard. More storyline and information could have been given throughout the game to assist the player in their journey.
Thank you for reading my comment and I wish you good luck in your future endeavours.
Thanks for your feedback, actually I've been play tested this game over hundreds of times, so I'm pretty numb about the difficulty of the game. For the boss battle, the boss will turn vulnerable when it's preparing to attack, you need to shoot it while it's attacking, I vary the gun hit effects and wish the player to find this out.
I'll take your suggestions and make a new update, probably adding tutorial to tell players to attack the boss while it's attacking, and lower the difficulty by increasing player's endurance (So it takes more time for pests to take you down).

I got a big problem, I cannot click "start" when I launch the game...
Never encountered that bug, maybe you can try relaunching the game, what are the specs of you PC?
